    "Murrine Kiku"
design Ermanno Toso, maker F.lli Toso, years 1950-1958 est.

    Code: Vi-0056

    H 26,5 cm (10,4 in) W 14,5 cm (5,7 in)
The pieces named Kiku (after the Japanese translation of the word "daisy", which identified one of the design of the murrine used in the factory) are very well known and represent some of the finest examples of the Murano murrine production in the 20th C.
The piece represented here is in perfect condition, it still retains the original label and it has a second sticker that suggests it might have been the object of an auction in the past, it is made with 7 different examples of the kiku murrine, from a total of 9 different design in different color combination. The murrine were "picked-up" from the tray with a "pea" of glass, therefore the inside is coated with a very fine layer of clear glass. The pontil area is perfectly cleaned and polished.

  • "Murrine Spirale"
design Ermanno Toso, maker F.lli Toso, years 1960-62

    Code: Vi-0057

    H 15 cm (5,9 in) W 9 cm (3,5 in)

Obviously the spiral design gives name to this murrina, rather a simple design but very difficult to obtain, with a spectacular contrasting effect between the amethyst transparent glass and the black nerox glass. The shape is very elaborate, with a manipulation of the hot mass that required the best of the glass masters that worked at the F.lli Toso. Perfect condition, clean and polished pontil area.

  • "Murrine Millepunti"
design Ermanno Moretti, maker F.lli Toso, years 1930s

    Code: Vi-0059

    H 24,5 cm (9,6 in) W 14 cm (5,5 in)

Yet another example of a very simple design for a murrina that implies the use of a difficult technique, several layers of zanfirico rods, made in opaque color, the first 2 layers green/coated clear and the other three layers white/coated blue. The resulting effect is almost seductive! Perfect condition, clean pontil area.
